This page contains the latest information regarding Katy's development. The are currently two main versions of Katy, v0.2.3 and v0.3.1. v0.2.3 is the last version written for KDE1 and is not being actively developed (at the moment). v0.3.1 has been ported to KDE 3 and is the version in the SourceForge CVS repository.
There is a Sourceforge project for Katy which you can check out for developer information and other stuff.
If you wish to be involved in the development of Katy, you should join the Katy Devel mailing list, hosted at Sourceforge. Go to the Katy Devel Info Page for more information about subscribing, etc.
There is a CVS repository which you can access anonymously to get bleeding edge source.
Once you have gotten the source, you will need to do something like this to compile and install it:
$ make -f Makefile.cvs $ ./configure $ make $ su ... type in your root password # make install
